The order Debra teaches in The Contract Is Yours, which is the order the work actually happens.

$2,497, with instant access after enrollment.

  1. Stop 01

    Your foundation

An active LLC or corporation verified with your state, the right equipment to work online, and a business structure registered the right way.

  2. Stop 02

    Portal registration

How state, city, county and school district portals work, registering so bids route to you, and setting up so agencies can pay you by ACH.

  3. Stop 03

    Certifications and the SBA

Which certifications show an agency you are organized and compliant, why a certification alone never wins a contract, and how to connect with your local SBA office.

  4. Stop 04

    Finding contracts two ways

The prime contractor model and the subcontractor model, and where live state and local opportunities are posted.

  5. Stop 05

    Choosing the right contract

Reading a solicitation fast, checking insurance and document requirements, and making a go or no-go decision.

  6. Stop 06

    Subcontractors

Finding subcontractors, vetting them, getting a real price with a two-question call, and keeping up with them during the project.

  7. Stop 07

    Pricing and submitting

Pricing so you win and still profit, building the bid documents, and submitting through the portal before the deadline.

  8. Stop 08

    Funding the work

Purchase orders, net 30 accounts, factoring, SBA-backed lines of credit, and payment terms with your subcontractors.

  9. Stop 09

    Invoicing and getting paid

Invoices agencies accept, receiving ACH, paying your subcontractor and keeping the rest. Then doing it again.

Debra Smith, Founder and CEO, POOBZ Logistics LLC

Debra Smith bids on the same contracts she teaches.

Debra opened a freight brokerage in 2019. In 2023 she moved the company out of the spot market and rebuilt it in government contracting. Her first award was a shipping container contract in Buffalo, New York, won through the subcontractor lane.

Several awards later, she runs a mentorship practice that teaches business owners the process she still uses for her own bids, built in a male-dominated industry and taught in plain language.

“You cannot lead someone to a place you have never been.”

Questions owners ask first

Short answers. The full guide to SLED contracting goes deeper.

Read the SLED contracting guide

What is SLED government contracting?

SLED stands for state, local and education. It covers contracts with state agencies, cities, counties, school districts and other public education buyers. Every one of them has a budget it must spend on goods and services, and it buys from registered vendors. POOBZ Logistics LLC teaches this market specifically.

Is this federal contracting?

No. POOBZ programs are built for state, local and education contracting, the SLED market Debra Smith works in every day. Federal contracting is a separate system with its own registration and rules.

Do I need experience to start?

No prior contracting experience is needed. Debra’s own answer: You need an active business, a laptop, and the decision to act. An active LLC or corporation is the first requirement.

Can I learn this while working a job?

Yes. The Contract Is Yours is built so owners can start part time and build toward full time. The Bid Room meets in the evening, every Wednesday at 6 pm Eastern.

Does POOBZ bid on contracts for me?

Not in the training programs. They teach owners to find, price and submit their own bids so the contract is truly theirs. The Runway positions an established company with agencies; bidding on a client’s behalf is a separate package offered once the runway is clear.

Where is POOBZ Logistics LLC based?

The corporate office is at 848 Brickell Avenue in Miami, Florida. Programs run online for business owners anywhere in the United States, and in-person events are listed on the Events page.
